Day 1

Arrival day

Flights arrive into Iğdır Airport where you will be welcomed by our team and transfer to Doğubayazıt, hotel accommodation

Day 2

Day 2 image

Trek to Base Camp

After a one-hour drive to the trailhead at Eli Village (2,000m), your equipment is transferred to pack mules for the journey ahead. From here, you begin a steady trek across the mountain slopes to Camp 1 (3,200m), a picturesque grassy campsite reached in approximately four hours. The remainder of the day is spent relaxing, taking in the stunning surroundings, and preparing for the next stage of the ascent. Overnight in camp.

Acclimatisation day

Acclimatisation hike to approximately 4,200 m, return to Base Camp.

Trek to High Camp

Leaving the grassy alpine meadows behind, the route climbs onto the mountain’s rocky scree slopes. The well-defined trail zigzags steadily upwards, gaining height at a comfortable pace and rarely feeling steep or technical. After approximately 3 to 4 hours of trekking, you arrive at Camp 2, dramatically situated on a rocky ridge at around 4,200m. From this spectacular location, you'll enjoy sweeping views across the surrounding valleys and up towards Ararat’s impressive summit glaciers. Overnight in camp.

Summit Day -Mount Ararat 5137m

An alpine start sees you leaving Camp 2 in the early hours, following a rocky trail that winds steadily towards the summit. After around 4 to 5 hours of ascent, you reach the edge of the glacier and the mountain’s permanent snowfields, where crampons may be required depending on the conditions. Continuing across the upper slopes, the summit of Mount Ararat (5,137m) is typically reached 6 to 7 hours after leaving camp. From the top, enjoy outstanding views stretching across eastern Turkey and beyond before beginning the descent. Returning via Camp 2, you continue down to Camp 1, completing a rewarding 9 to 10-hour round trip. Overnight in camp.

Return to Doğubayazıt

Trek from Camp 1 to the road head and back to Doğubayazıt. Overnight in the hotel and relax.

Transfer to airport and depart the country for the UK
